JD Capital-invested Xinqiu Agriculture Listed on the NEEQ
Shandong Xinqiu Agriculture Technology Co., Ltd. (Xinqiu Agriculture, 832268), invested by JD Capital, was formally listed on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ) for public transferring.
Xinqiu Agricutlure is a high-tech enterprise in Shandong Province, engaging in the breeding, processing and selling of agricultural seeds. It is also recognized as the national torch plan high-tech key enterprise. Boasting strong R&D capacity, Xinqiu Agriculture cooperates with scientific research institutions in this field. It has accumulated rich resources and experiences through years’ involvement in the cotton seed industry. With above-mentioned advantages, Xinqiu Agriculture works hard to produce new types of cottons adapted to different cotton-ecological regions, including early-maturing cottons, saline-alkaline tolerated cottons, cottons with tall branches and those suitable for machine picking. It has acquired eight proprietary technologies (including four invention patents). Te brand “Xinqiu” is awarded the China Well-known Trademark, with 27 registered trademarks under brand-protection. Based on its stable seed-production base and advanced processing facilities, Xinqiu Agriculture has forged a value chain integrating the R&D, production, processing and selling of seed and the production, processing and selling of cotton.
Seed is of growing significance for agriculture and even for the whole economy. With the importance of seed being increasingly recognized, developed countries have already taken the accelerating development of seed industry as a key measure for agriculture advancement. As a populous country with agriculture as a significant part in its economy, China has identified the seed industry as “a core industry of national strategy and fundamentality”. It is estimated that the market size of domestic seed industry would likely expand over 8% during the 12th Five-Year Plan period. As of 2015, the market size is expected to total over 80 billion yuan.
JD Capital started to take stakes of Xinqiu Agriculture (14.86% shares prior to public transfer) since December 2011 as the second largest shareholder. As of present, a total of 30 enterprises JD capital invested have been listed on the NEEQ
